100 years of family history ...
1920 : our history with the automobile begins with André BAILLY
1936 : Peugeot's first point of sale in Metz
Up to 2006 : development of 12 Peugeot dealerships in France (Grand Est) by the sons of André, Jean-Paul and Patrick Bailly.
Since 2006 : expansion from 12 to 72 sites in France (Grand Est), Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and Belgium by Stéphane Bailly, son of Jean-Paul.
2014 : the Bailly Group is renamed CAR Avenue.
2017 : roll out of the CAR Avenue BRAND for all Group dealerships.
2018 : launch of the commercial website www.caravenue.com .
2020 : CAR Avenue Centenary.
2021 : CAR Avenue establishes operations in Switzerland.
2022 : launch of new mobility services: CAR Avenue TYRE and CAR Avenue WATT.
2023 : launch of CAR Avenue LOGISTIC and CAR Avenue ECOMOBY.
2025 : launch of CAR Avenue FINANCIAL SERVICES.

The European Group CAR Avenue has been a mobility partner for both private and professional users since 1920. Historically established in Lorraine, it has expanded its territorial network and diversified its activities with more than 150 dealerships and services, now reaching beyond the borders of the Grand Est region — chronologically extending into the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Belgium, and more recently, Switzerland.
Ranked as the 25th largest automotive distribution Group in Europe and the 4th in France, and a market leader in the Greater Region, CAR Avenue specializes in vehicle maintenance, repair, alloy wheel refurbishment, the sale of new and used vehicles, short- and long-term rentals, the installation of charging stations, and spare parts distribution through its CAR Avenue SERVICES platform located in Lesménils.

Our approach to training: giving everyone a chance, sharing our knowledge, and striving for excellence is at the very heart of the Bailly family’s values and the CAR Avenue ACADEMY.
Training is a cornerstone of the Group. The Bailly family has always been committed to developing its teams and preparing the next generation, placing great emphasis on passing down quality and excellence in know-how. Today, more than 270 young people are trained through work-study programs within the structures of this family-run group. Each year, our apprentices are celebrated at a graduation ceremony in their honor.
